April 24th, 2007 - 2200 miles

2200 miles is how much we’ve driven our SUV (gasp! yes, we have an SUV!) in the last 6 (SIX!) months. Over the weekend, I looked at the oil change reminder, seeing that we were still 800 miles under. Then I realized that we were “due” in January. That means it’s been six months since we changed our oil! (And, even though Honda says 3750, our dealer still writes it down for every 3000 on the reminder.)

Since we don’t drive to work, we’ve always been a bit lower than average. But our trips our East, happening nearly 2x/year since we married, that increased our yearly amount. We intend to go out no more than every two years here on out. ‘Course that might change, but at least so far that sounds like a good plan money-wise. Plus, our parents have generally come out to visit once year.
